Zorvanu is owned and edited by Matt Mars. The journal publishes reviews, rankings, features and practical listening guides. The purpose is to help a reader decide what to hear next and understand the reasoning behind each opinion.
Editorial responsibility
Matt Mars selects the subjects, checks the final page and is responsible for every published claim and judgment. Rankings are personal criticism, not mathematical facts. The explanation beside a ranking position matters more than the number itself.
Listening and review method
Reviews consider songwriting, performance, production, sequencing, emotional effect and replay value. Rankings define their scope in the introduction and use the same broad criteria throughout the list. A short song is not penalized for being short, and popularity is not treated as proof of quality.
Sources and links
Release dates, track lists, credits and historical claims are checked against official artist pages, labels, music services, interviews or established databases when available. Source notes are included when a claim depends on information outside the listening itself. Direct Spotify links are provided for convenience and do not replace the written analysis.
Ownership and conflicts
If Matt Mars has a personal, professional or financial relationship with a subject, that relationship must be disclosed before the relevant evaluation. Zorvanu does not present first-party or sponsored material as independent press, and no relationship guarantees favorable coverage.
Advertising and commercial influence
Advertising does not determine which artist is covered, a review score or a ranking position. Advertisers do not receive advance approval of editorial text. Paid or supplied material, if accepted in the future, must be clearly labeled. A payment can never purchase a favorable opinion. Read the full advertising disclosure.
Review copies and promotional submissions
Receiving a free review copy, press release or private listening link does not guarantee coverage. When material support is relevant to a reader’s understanding, it is disclosed on the page.
Software-assisted work
Software may assist with research organization, grammar, accessibility checks, code and testing. It does not remove editorial responsibility. The editor must review the final wording, verify factual claims and decide whether a page is worth publishing.
Corrections and substantial updates
Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed. Material corrections are recorded on the corrections page or in an article note. Changes to taste-based rankings are not presented as factual corrections.
